Our Heartfelt Thanks to Our Supporters and Sponsors
At the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation, we are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of our sponsors and partners. Their generous contributions have been crucial in enabling us to achieve remarkable progress and success over the years.
Our Mission and Impact
For the past 12 years, we have steadfastly pursued our mission to empower families of premature babies, providing continuous support and education every step of the way. As a parent-led, charitable organization, we deeply understand the multifaceted challenges—physical, mental, emotional, and financial—that families face following preterm births, the leading cause of childhood disability and mortality in children under the age of five. With donor support we are able to:
-
Raise awareness and advocate for policies that support the needs of NICU babies and their families
-
Develop educational resources for families of premature babies.
-
Participate in research and quality improvement projects designed to lessen the impacts of prematurity on babies and families.
-
Offer mental health resources, peer support groups and counselling for families of premature babies.

develop a training program for NICU peer parents (and conduct training sessions across the country)
-
launch a microgrant program for hospitals and community centres that want to run peer support groups for NICU families
-
create Welcome to the Club booklets for NICU families which are now available in 10 different languages for free download
-
give out yearly bursaries to NICU graduates who are now moving on to higher education
-
work with the Ontario government to ensure NICU families could access funding for pumps and that every NICU baby could benefit from an exclusive human milk diet
-
deliver a webinar series in collaboration with Children’s Health Network (former CAPHC) and Life with a Preterm Baby
-
publish a book, Early Beginnings, containing inspirational family stories and send it to NICUs across Canada
-
expand the celebration of World Prematurity Day into a fully national celebration
-
ensure NICU families are eligible to receive specific government benefits by working with the Federal Government on benefit design, system improvements and service delivery

-
create and distribute educational content for families about common winter illnesses including RSV

collaborate on more than 45 major research initiatives in Canada and internationally to improve outcomes for infants born preterm
We are so grateful to all of our supporters; we couldn’t do this without you!
We also wish to acknowledge our sponsors, who by providing us with unrestricted educational grants have enabled us to accomplish so much in support of NICU babies and families.
